Consume webservice in pocket pc 2003

Question

Hi How to consume a webservice in pocket pc 2003.What I did is I am having a Helloworld webservice. I have created a pocket pc application and then I have added a web reference to that. and then calling the webmethod.But it is giving some error.please resolve my problem. I am getting the follwing error:Could not establish connection to the network. regards santosh.

hi! i also had that same problem so i followed what you said but after i run the application it still doesn't work. My visual studio goes to the reference.cs then hangs and when i exit the emulator it displays the same error. do i need to place my webservice on the local iis? :(

Hi ranjith I hope you are using visual studio 2005. If you do so then you need only a couple of steps.Before you go on consuming your web service you will have to connect the emulator with your development environment. So go from visual studio's menu to Tools -> Device Emulator Manager. Mark the Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator left - click and choose Connect. After connecting you will have to cradle your emulator with ActiveSync in order to establish the virtual connection between the emulator and your service. So left-click again on Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator and choose Cradle. Then ActiveSync will be activated and will prompt you to choose a partnership. Select guest partnership and finally consume your web service. I hope that helped.. vanalex
