Data Grid and date time

I want to fix 5 rows in data grid and connect to database.
how to do this..

And how to perform calculations in date time. i am preparing projects for payroll.
and i need to calculate attendance . means an employee is present how many days in a month.. so how to do this..

You can apply paging to your gridview and for your another question your query might be like this select count(presentday) from emloyee where presentday between (your start date) and (end date) and employeeid=(employee id for which you are fetching data)
