filtering in c#

Hi i have been told to do a project as part of my course which is all explained in this pdf file - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B34ISOYE i have do up to step 9 and this link will be the code so far - http://www.megaupload.com/?d =Y0JCRO77 what i am struggling with is when i call the second form you enter in a text box what you would like to search for i know the thing should look something like Title = 'form2.search.text'; but that dont work. i know you can create a varaible to store each of the coloumns of the database but i dont know how to do that im afrad. any help will be grateful thanks in advance Alex

A very easy way is to make the Textbox in Form2 public. So you can access in Form1 to the TextBox and get the text. A better way is a public Property in Form2 which has only a getter and returns the trimed text of textbox. Form1 can access to public Properties in Form2. So you have the value.

okay basically we are given a database from access which we have to create a form in c#. ive made the form and got that bit working. ive also added a menu bar to go to the next previous first and last record. we then had to use the catolougebinding.sort to sort the records into order. i have done that section. the section i am stuck on is we have to filter and search for the records. to do that search you call a new form. i can call a new form and once you call that form you have to use an if statement to check if the dialougeresult.OK is pressed and if so take what is in the textbox from the second form and search for it in the database. Thanks
