Form change color

Question

Hello guys it is a long time since i did some programming  and i really dont remember a thing so i have to start C# all over again. i have created a form with a button on it . when i click the button the form changes its color to Red. what i want to do now is that when i click the button again it changes its color to white and to make it keep changing from red to white at every click.any help how to do this please? thanks and regards.

To change from red to green and then to white: private Color nextColor = Color.Red; private void button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { this.BackColor = nextColor; if (nextColor == Color.Red) { nextColor = Color.Green; } else if (nextColor == Color.Green) { nextColor = Color.White; } else { nextColor = Color.Red; } } Or to do it using a counter: private Color[] colors = new Color[]{Color.Red Color.Green Color.White}; private int counter = 0; private void button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { this.BackColor = colors[counter]; counter++; if (counter >= colors.Length) counter = 0; }

The following is a good book for learning the C# language and includes some exercises. http://www.amazon.com/3-0-Beginners-Guide-Herbert-Schildt/dp/0071588302 However it doesn't cover the application of the language to Windows Forms and I don't know of any specialist book on the latter which does include any exercises.

Just another 2 questions  if i would want my form to change to green after clicking again what should be done? and could be this done in another way for example by using a counter? would like to try both ways.thanks for your help.

Just thought of a better way to do it without using a field: public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { if (this.BackColor != Color.Red) { this.BackColor = Color.Red; } else { this.BackColor = Color.White; } } }
