Getting problem in subdomain data access

Question

I have a website abc.com  and it has microsoft access database. i have web.config file to the root directory i created a subdomain test.abc.com i have redirected test.abc.com to abc.com/test and i have placed a seperate web.config file in abc.com/test folder but it it giving me the following error: The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file . It is already opened exclusively by another user or you need permission to view its data. plz help me to sort it out

Does the abc.com/test site is a separate application or it is virtual directory under abc.com site ? If it is a virtual directory by default the web.config file will be inherited to the child folder /directories. To prevent this inhertitance you have to use the following settings. http://www.aspdotnetfaq.com/Faq/how-to-disable-web-config-inheritance-for-child-applications-in-subfolders-in-asp-net.aspx This will work only if your child application is in asp.net 2.0 and above. If it is a separate application are you using same access database for both the application ? Make the apppool user has the permission to access the database.
