Gridview row selection

Question

Hi How can i make a bound field as the select button for selecting the row? For example when i click on the company name which is a field in gridview the respective row should get selected.. How to do that and even the selected row color should change.. How to do that as i do not want to autogenerate the select linkbutton .

Hi Narayan I am sorry. Your answer is correct. Actually i got confused because of linkbutton text which you have given as select.. That made me think that it is autogenerated select button.. thanks for the answer

Narayan Sample Code is good. He used LinkButton inside of Template Field. the Text of link button is only Select but it actually a link button. and he used linkbutton event handler. Go through the Code in .aspx. and .cs files

Have you seen the code? I have used a template field with a link button inside it is not a auto generated button You can give any name to that button text and on the click event i am selecting the row. Please go through the aspx and .cs file.

Hi Narayan I do have the knowledge about that select but i do not want to do it like that. I have a templated field which is having a linkbutton.. At the click event of that linkbutton i want to change the color of the row. I also want to allow user to make only 1 selection at a time. How to do that? My requirement is that i do not want the select button
