How to add scanned items from a barcode reader to gridview at run time?

Question

Hi there I have a barcode reader which scans the barcode of a product(s). Upon scanning the barcode I can quite easily get the selected product. My problem is how would I go about implementing my software such that for each product that I scan how can I get these scanned items to appear in the gridview dynamically at run time...? I am creating a winforms application. Not ASP.NET. My gridview contains the following columns:: Prod ID | Name | Quantity | Price | Total. Any suggestions would be of great help. What would be a good logic? Kind regards Maz

I think you should creat C# of barcode generation to your project. Here is an example: using BusinessRefinery.Barcodes.Reader ; // Read a Code 39 barcodes image in C# class string [] barcodes = BarCodeReader.scanBarCode (bmpBusinessRefinery.Barcodes.Reader.BarCodeType.CODE39); // Read Data Matrix barcodes in C# class string [] barcodes = BarCodeReader.scanBarCode (bmpBusinessRefinery.Barcodes.Reader.BarCodeType.DATAMATRIX); According to your needs you can adjsut above C#. Lastclick the debug. The barcode image will show up and be scanned at run time.

Hi 1) You need to create table (say Product_Master) Which has columns a)ProdID b)Name c)Price d)Barcode 2)In this table u need to add the barcode corresponding to its productname so that u can capture in ur actual transaction forms(Say sale or Purchase). 3)In ur transaction form Say u have 1 textbox where u r scanning barcode in it. On the Keydown event of textbox we would add details of corresponding barcode in datagridview. 4)At design time add columns in datagridview(prodidqtyname.......).
