how to get value in dropdown list from to db in mvc?

i am updating form in db with dropdown list in mvc

it is working fine also means updating in db.

but once i select form for update here dropdown list coimng blank i want which value i select for inserting same value should be come
when i updating in dropdown list

Hi Already post data also..it is inserted properly.now want to edit and update so edit time not bind the perticular value which i select n inserted.

before posting data hold that selected value in variable/state's after posting data to db Once the post happen rebind the dropdown as well as set as selected value whatever you holded in variable/stat's.. Note: Rebind dropdown after post and manaually assign selected value from serverside or view itself
