How to pass value to unspecified object using delegate C#

Question

I have a FlowLayoutPanel containing an unspecified number of Labels, when I double click in one of them, a new Form containing a TextBox and a Button will appear, here is the code:

NewForm form = new NewForm();

((Label)sender).Text = ...;//I want get text from TextBox of the NewForm here

I want get Text from TextBox of the NewForm and assign Text to the object that invoke the NewForm when user click the Button of the NewForm, I know to use properties or static variable to do this, but I dont know how to use delegate to do this? Please help me,Thanks!

Roy's suggestion should work but not until NewForm is closed as the ShowDialog() method will prevent the following line from executing until that happens. If you want it to show up as soon as the button is clicked then I'd change the constructor on NewForm to accept a reference to the label which was double-clicked: class NewForm: Form { private Label lbl; public NewForm(Label lbl) { InitializeComponent(); this.lbl = lbl; } private button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { lbl.Text = textBox1.Text; } // rest of code } In the other form you'll then need: private void lb_MouseDoubleClick(object sender MouseEventArgs e) { Label lbl = (Label)sender; NewForm form = new NewForm(lbl); form.ShowDialog(); }

Add a public property to the second form with a get (a set isn't needed but can be added if necessary). And in the get you just have to return the text value of the textbox. public string TextFromTextbox { get { return txtText.Text; } } EDIT: Found a much better way.
