I am new to CSS and having problem in it

Question

Hi all I am new to CSS and having problem in it. I want to create a list in HTML user can select only one item at a time when any item in the list is moused over it is heighlited when any item in the list is clicked it is shown in bold when new item is selected the bold formating of the previous must be removed first. I want to get these things done using CSS. please help me with this thanks in advance

You can easily create a list in HTML and you can set a hover style. Here's an example: http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listutorial/roll_master.htm # However the part about selecting an item will require either some server side code or some Javascript. I don't think it can be done with CSS alone. You could add an on click event to each list item. The code for this would set a CSS style for the clicked item.

You can experiment with the settings just find some tutorials for CSS links. a:link {color:#FF0000;} /* unvisited link */ a:visited {color:#00FF00;} /* visited link */ a:hover {color:#FF00FF;} /* mouse over link */ a:active {color:#0000FF; font-weight:bold} /* selected link */ This is a link a:hover MUST come after a:link and a:visited in the CSS definition in order to be effective. a:active MUST come after a:hover in the CSS definition in order to be effective.
