iis Express keeps pointing to port 8080

Question

Hi forum members Can somebody advise me how to set the configuration of my iis Express so that it will not point to Port 8080 ? I need the iis Express to follows the port that is assigned by my form-based application which is port 1556. Basically I am now doing the login authentication via the admin control console but this iis Express is preventing me from going to the admin control. Hope someone knows the answer there....tks.

Hi Kashif The port is auto-generated when we right click at the properties. By right when I run my c:prompt and activated the iisExpress the port should change to the one same as the auto-generated by the Visual Studio 2013. It doesn't. It just keeps pointing to 8080. Just to add I am doing the login authentication which I need to set the user and roles. And I would like to know how to make it the same port as the visual studio's. Hope some one can help me. Tks.

You can change the port by these steps: In Solution Explorer right-click the name of the application and select its Properties. Then click the Web tab. In Servers section under Use Local IIS Web server in the Project URL box change the port NO. To the right of the Project URL box click Create Virtual Directory and click OK. In File menu click Save Selected Items. For verification press F5 OR Enter http://localhost:YOUR_PORT to run the project. The new port number appears in address bar. ENJOY...... :)
