Linked combo boxes

Question

I have 2 combo boxes I want to tie together. Right now I have

C1.DisplayMember = "field1"
C1.DisplayValue = "field2
C2.DisplayMember = "field2"
C2.DisplayValue = "field1"

My thoughts were when they pick from one, it can change the other without a database hit and vice versa. I tried on selected index changed but it seems to be getting the value before the change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Say C1 has 1 2 and 3 listed in it as codes. C2 has the real world text for those codes say Red Yellow Blue. Red always matches 1 and Yellow 2 and Blue 3. So if they pick Blue I want to also select 3 in the C1. If they pick 2 I want to select Yellow in C2. C1.DisplayMember = code C1.DisplayValue = color” C2.DisplayMember = color C2.DisplayValue = code I thought if I set the value to the other combo boxes display I could do this without a database hit.
