.NET Developer with more than 9 years experience

Question

Hi Friends I have been working as a .NET developer for more than 9 years. I have worked in 3 companies before joining my current company. In my current company I am working as a contractor deputed to some MNC as a Developer. I want to become an Architect but due to my current position not getting enough scope to reach that level. Please suggest me on how to build my career from now onwards and become a successful Architect.

This may help you. To be an architect you need to update your skills very frequently. Get registered yourself in sites such as Microsoft asp.net and Codeproject who would send you the daily news about new .net technologies. Try to learn as much as design patterns that may help you later when you architect any new application Try to attend Microsoft meetups as much as possible. Try to rearchitect any of your old application with new .net .techlogies and new design patterns. When you work on a new feature on an existing application try to implement new .net features if possible this may help you a better understanding of how new .net feature works. Try to participate in business proposal calls and share your thoughts/ideas and get to learn from other architects. Thanks Sakthi.
