Read the last Value inserted of a Field in a List Item

Question

Hello C# Corner I want to fetch data of last item inserted in list column and display the value in html output. Name: if i inserted few minute a go 001 . After closing the system and open again 001 will appear in Name: before i enter 002 Anybody with help please with javascript material references or code. Thanks Beavon

Hi Beavon Better you can use jquery and rest api and get the last inserted value from sharepoint list. Example: site URL/_api/web/Lists/GetByTitle('List Name')/items?$top=1&$select=ID&$orderby=ID desc Regards M

Hi Beavon If you are using SharePoint list with C# coding then write the caml query to sort the list descending order and get the latest one and display/bind the value of the field in textbox. Thanks Rashmi
