Reduce BitmapImage Quality

Hi all i just start programming with VS2010 (C#) and i'm trying to reduce the quality of BitmapImage objects so i can reduce the size of the file and save it to disk. Any idea how can i do that?. Thanks for your help

Thanks Mike but the ScaleTransform is to stretch or shrink an object horizontally or vertically. My goal is to save the same image with less quality( so i can reduce the size of the stored file). In my app i have a BitmapImage object. Any help would be great.

I think you can use a ScaleTransform on them but not sure if this is the approach.
