Remove new lines from string before word

Question

Hello,

 

I have a template message and want to remove the 2 new lines before a specific word "[cancel]".

 

My template is:  

Dear [customer],

 

This is a reminder message.

 

[cancel] 

--------------

 

If the cancel is not allowed i remove it from the string but  i need to remove the new lines else they are available in the mail.
