sum formula in crystal reports

Hello everyone !
I have problem in sum formula in crystal reports.I have one field in my report "Completion time" , every task have Completion time.In the end,i want total time,
i use formula like this , Sum({Completion_Time}),but when i drag it,to my report, its not working. Can anyone help about it, how to make sum formula in crystal reports.Pls help, its urgent.

Hi...I am trying to summarize fields and one is a score..I want to add scores if the topics are matching(topic is another column).It is like... Topic Score Summarized column A 10 A 20 30 B 40 40 C 60 C 70 130 I want to display the third column.Is it preferable to use a formula or summarised fields.I tried it with summarised dialog box but it is only giving me count and not the sum .It works for max/minimum value however

Add the new formula field with name Add and write the following code in that filed: {@FirstValue } + {@SecondValue }

Thanx for reply ok when i right click on my report and insert-->summary then its also want to select Calculate this summarydrop down.and in this drop down there is no sum field in it and it has these fields(CountMaximumMinimumModeNth LargestNth SmallestDistinct countNth Frequecnt) etc. So can u suggest me which field i use in this drop down for sum.

Hi The What is the datatype of your Completion Type Field. If it is number type then Summary of the field will work fine. Or if it is something else then let me know about it. Mushatque

You can use summary field in your report 1. right click on report click Insert->Summary 2. select the field you want to sum
