Question

Today is the big day for apple and everyone else waited for the iPhone 5 just another milestone of the revolutionary apple's product. Everybody is talking, sharing about it. I hope folks here must be watching the same too.
I Didn't get time to watch it all.
So can we have brief of what's new in iPhone 5?
What's new apple introduced with it?
How will it affect the technology?

iPhone 4S has many more feature than iPhone4 and i think this will get upgraded to iPhone5.

I am disappointed. I was expecting iPhone 5. I don't care what features it is it is still iPhone 4. It does not make sense to pay for iPhone 4 S while I already have iPhone 4.

Javeed listed most of the new features. I have not been paying attention very much but I did hear that people are disappointed that it is not an iPhone 5; it does not have as many new features that people were hoping for. It is an iPhone 4s. The other new feature is that it is amazingly very thin; correct?

Dinesh I did try to find out about the availability in India but no details are there on the Apple site about the pricing and availability of the device in India which usually means it may have to wait for some more time (may be 6 mths to a year). Looking at some more forums I got some rough idea about the prices but again these are approx. prices and subject to change. Following are the few highlights i was able to gather: 1. For the first time the iPhone will be available on the Sprint wireless network. 2. The phone costs from $200 for a model with 16 GB of storage space to $400 for the 64 GB model. Both of those prices are subsidized by the cost of a 2-year wireless contract. 3. iPhone goes on sale on October 14. 4. iPhone 4S is a world phone meaning it will be able to place calls more easily on wireless networks all over the world not just in the United States. 5. It contains an A5 processor that the company says is up to seven times faster at rendering graphics and twice as fast at processing data than older versions of the iPhone. 6. It has a fantastic battery life allowing people to talk for eight hours on the phone before needing to charge it again. 7. It features an 8 megapixel camera with a better light sensor making it as good or better than many point-and-shoot devices. 8. It will shoot high-definition video -- and has a new image stabilization feature -- to make videos less shaky. 9. A new voice-recognition feature called Siri will let iPhone users control their phones by talking to them. 10. Siri also will convert the spoken word into text allowing people to talk into their phones to send text message.
