Using MS SQL with ASP.Net core project

Question

Dear Tekkies I have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 management studio express installed on the server. Developing a ASP.NET Core project using MS SQL with C#. MVC also would be preferable. I have got experience with VB little in C# and .NET core. Can someone assist me the step by step instructions and connection string etc. Thanks in advance

Do not forget the fact that ASP.NET Core is still the .NET based framework of web application development and it provides the same objects and methods to connect your ASP.NET Core application to database. Simplest of the methods would be using (var conn = new SqlConnection( connection_string )) { conn.Open(); // Create queries and execute them } I would be more than happy to just use this. However there would be an easy way of doing that if you create another class that helps you to keep the data layer abstracted. Also note that you can always use Entity Framework Core with ASP.NET Core and make things even more simpler.
