WCF - DataMember an interface okay?

Question

Is this okay? Property which is an interface?

[Serializable()]
public class Person : ISerializable
{

 ...
 [DataMember()]
 IGroup Group {
   get {...}
   set {...}
  }
  ...
}

Seems like "Group" is always populated as "null" by WCF?
