WPF Custom datagrid with save functionality

Question

Any recommendation for a readymade/custom wpf datagrid control with ability to save individual user settings for column reordering and sorting per screen basis ? Also the grid should be able to nest one level and itemsource independent of the datasource ! Any approach suggested ?

I didn't understand your requirement here. Which design pattern are you using in your project? ItemSource is used to bind the collection. If you want your own style of showing data/column use Templating.Also you can see PagedCollectionView to alter item source. You can set the ItemSource in xamlno extra coding is needed. You can call the database and you can bound your dataset also. Just you need to convert it to IEnumerable or IObservable.

Hi Arunava Thanks its useful had a followup query : -How can we make the wpf grid functionality independent of itemsource ? Grid will have only xaml and its code behind and will connect to db . The columns can be declared in xaml or dynamically. Basically all the logic will be in its xaml/code behind. We have been able to do so with inheriting from system.window controls in wpf which do not need database to load like textboxcheckbox lable etc looking for similar approach with datagrid Any approach suggested ?

cn you post a link for telerik wpf grid you mentioned ? Hahve you also used infragistics wpf grid ? is it different from telerik wpf grid ? following are the requirements from the grid : - allow columns per user per screen--immediately or after a delay -reorder columns per user per screen --immediately or after a delay -columns statically defined or dynamically --load user saved settings on runtime -datagrid functionality independent of itemsource -nested datagrid -connectiviy to the database from grid please suggest

Go for Telerik Grid. It is widely used now a days. If my suggestion satisfies your need then please mark this as accepted.
