Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our company's databases. You will ensure that our databases operate efficiently and securely to meet the needs of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS)
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Perform database backups and recovery procedures
- Implement and maintain database security protocols
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support
- Collaborate with software developers and other IT staff to design and optimize database applications
- Develop and implement data management policies and procedures
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies and tools
- Perform database migrations and upgrades as needed
- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong understanding of database management systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Proficiency in database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, optimization, backup and recovery, and security management
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred)
