A 27-year-old engineer has been arrested for allegedly misappropriating cryptocurrency worth Rs 56 crore from his former employer in Bengaluru.The accused, identified as Vinay Kumar, was working as a software engineer with a cryptocurrency exchange company. He allegedly stole the cryptocurrency from the company's hot wallet over a period of several months.The company filed a complaint with the police after it discovered the theft. The police tracked down Kumar and arrested him from his residence in Bengaluru.During interrogation, Kumar confessed to stealing the cryptocurrency. He told the police that he had used the stolen cryptocurrency to buy luxury cars and property.The police have seized the stolen cryptocurrency and the luxury cars purchased by Kumar.
