Google has introduced a new “Backup and Sync” app for Windows PC and Mac, that makes it easier to backup and secure important files and photos in an organized way.
“Backup and Sync is an app for Mac and PC that backs up files and photos safely in Google Drive and Google Photos, so they're no longer trapped on your computer and other devices. Just choose the folders you want to back up, and we’ll take care of the rest.”

This new tool works for both, Google Photos as well as Google Drive, and replaces the Google Photos desktop uploader and Drive for Mac/PC tools which we currently use. The most useful advantage of this tool is that once synced, you can access your files or photos from any device on which you are logged in with the associated account.
