Microsoft has been tweaking Cortana on
Android and iOS for some time now, and recently, they have gone on to add the latest addition of an all new lock screen option just for Android devices. While this feature has been in beta since January, it is now available for all Android users. It must be noticed that Microsoft is not replacing the existing lock screens with Cortana but it is making its digital assistant accessible, by simply swiping left or right on a floating logo, making it immediately accessible just like Google’s own option.

“Today, you can now interact with Cortana above the lock. Quickly get answers to your questions, set a reminder and more without having to unlock your device.”
In addition to the lock screen integration, Cortana home section of Android is also getting refreshed with new features and information, such as weather, calendar event, and display of travel time, as soon as the app is launched.

Microsoft is also launching Cortana for iOS and Android in Australia, making it the third country the mobile app is available, along with UK and US.
The company states,
“The information you need to keep on top of your day is now at your fingertips with Cortana above the lock on Android. We introduced the ability to get Cortana on your lock screen earlier this month so you could quickly swipe and see what Cortana’s got for you for the day.”
