.NET Core Tools 1.0 Released

Microsoft released .NET Core Tools 1.0 today, along with the launch of Visual Studio 2017. This new launch is special in many ways –
  • First of all, all the leading operating systems, Windows, macOS, and Linux will support .NET Core Tools 1.0.

  • Second, the tools can be used in many ways, i.e., in command-line, with VS Code, and as an integral part of Visual Studio 2017. However, in order to use it as a part of Visual Studio 2017, the user has to select the .NET Core cross-platform development workload while installing Visual Studio. 

  • Third, the another release of today, Visual Studio for Mac Preview 4 also supports .Net Core Tools.
Two versions of .NET Core Runtime, .NET Core 1.0.4 and .NET Core 1.1.1 were released along with the .NET Core Tools 1.0 SDK. You can download all the packages from the .NET Core Downloads page easily.
