Slack, the popular chat app for business teams, is raising $500 million at a valuation of $5 billion. Slack has previously raised a similar amount of $500 million from VCs. Bloomberg is also reporting that it has attracted several companies who may be interested acquiring the chat app including Amazon. According to the news, the deal may reach $9 billion.
Slack was released in 2013 and today, it has become one of the primary medium of business communication.
Slack has already raised over $1 billion in 10 rounds from 26 investors.
