There are 7.5 billion people in this world and this number is expected to reach close to 10 billion by 2050. India is expected to become the number-one country by population by 2020.
Out of 7.5 billion people, five billion people now have access to a mobile.
According to GSMA Intelligence (see infographic below), the number of unique mobile subscribers worldwide hit the 5 billion mark on June 15, 2017. The number of total mobile users has reached over 8 billion.
