Clear Cache in Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we will talk about caches in windows 8, There are three type of caches in windows Memory cache, DNS cache and Thumbnails cache. Memory cache work on system memory clearing it clear some system memory, Thumbnail cache working on hard disk and clearing it make free space on hard disk and DNS cache over comes the problem of internet connection. In windows 8 when you use disk cleanup utility it not clean temp files and junk files while it also clean Thumbnail cache also. It improve performance of system toward make more free spaces in hard drive.


Clearing DNS Cache

Open metro application UI screen, search command prompt tile right click on it and click Run as administrator to rum cmd utility.

Now, type ipconfig /flushdns it on cmd prompt and press Enter. now you will see a message on command prompt window that successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache.

Clearing Memory Cache

If you are facing the slow speed problem of your computer due to the memory problem, you can clear unused RAM  through this way. To doing this you will create a short cut on desktop.
First right-click anywhere on the desktop and select New > Shortcut.

Put this below line when asked for location and tnen click Next button.

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

Put it any Name as you want and click on finish button.

Now open this newly created shortcut and you will notice a slightly better performance.
 
Clearing Thumbnails Cache
 
Thumbnail cache work on hard disk, so clear it right click on your partition drive and open the properties window, now click disk cleanup taband with the help of check boxes select the item you want to remove and Thumbnail cache.
