How to Create AutoFill in Excel 2013

Introduction

AutoFill is a function of Excel by to automatically fill in the next value in the next cell. To create an AutoFill you have to hold down the right-button on the cell and move the cursor horizontally or vertically then release the button. After releasing the button the AutoFill value will be automatically filled into the cell. Excel provide some predefined AutoFill such as day, month, number etc.

In this article we are defining how to create an AutoFill. Excel provides predefined AutoFills for easily creating an AutoFill value but if you want to create our custom AutoFill for a specified value then ____. To do that Excel provides an edit custom list by which you can create a custom AutoFill for a specified value.

Steps to create AutoFill

Step 1

Open an Excel sheet and enter any day, month or number and hold down right-button and move horizontally or vertically.

The next value will be automatically filled in.

Create custom AutoFill.

Step 3

In the File tab click on "Option". an Excel option dialog box will be shown, click on "Advanced".

In the Advanced tab click on "Edit custom list".

Step 5

The Custom List window will be shown.

In the custom list enter your custom item and click on "Add" then "OK".

Step 7

After creating the custom AutoFill you can use it as a predefined AutoFill; type any list item and hold down the right-button and move horizontally or vertically.
