How to Use Chrome as Your Metro Browser in Windows 8

In this article we are explaining how to use Chrome as your Metro browser in Windows 8. When Windows 8 was released then some changing our Metro browser. The browser will be as simple as installing Firefox or Chrome and setting it as the default browser. Only the default browser will be available in Metro. If we want to set Google Chrome for a default browser then we will lose Internet Explorer. If Internet explorer is the default browser then we can't download Google Chrome in Metro. Then we install the Google Chrome.

Step 1

First we open the Start Screen in Windows 8.

After completing the installation, we set Google Chrome as our default browser.

We can change the setting from the default program window and press Enter to open it. Select the Set our default programs link in the default programs window.

Select the Set our default programs link in the default programs window.

Step 5

Locate Google Chrome in the list and click the Set this program as default option. Then we click Ok.

Step 6

After this process we will see the Chrome icon in our Start Screen.  Internet Explorer's Metro icon will change to a desktop icon.

Step 7

The Metro version of Google Chrome uses a full-screen interface, the same interface as the desktop version. Google says they'll be "smoothing out the UI on Metro and improving touch support" before the release of Windows 8.

Step 8

Chrome for Metro is integrated with the charms, so you can mouse-over the top or bottom right corners of your screen and use the standard charm options.

Chrome also supports Metro's snap feature, so you can use it side-by-side with another Metro app.
