Error "Could Not Load User Profile" in SharePoint 2013

Error

I had created a SharePoint 2013 team site in the cloudshare environment.

When I click on the Sites tab in the team site I was getting the following error:

Reason

One of the causes of this issue is "User Profile Synchronization Service" is not started.

How to resolve

  1. Open Central Administration.
  2. Click on Application Management.
  3. Click on Manage services on server that is available under Service Applications section.
  4. Select User Profile Synchronization Service and then click on Start.
  5. Enter the Password, Confirm Password and then click on Ok.

  6. User Profile Synchronization Service will be in the Starting status.

  7. After some time the status will change to started.

  8. Navigate to the team site and then click on the Sites tab.
  9. You will be able to access the site without any issue.
