Flash Fill Feature in Excel 2013

It is a new feature introduced in Excel 2013. It effectively saves time by auto-filling cells with the relevant data following the data pattern. For example: If we will fill a column with full names and when we start filling the last names in another new column then the flash fill feature will automatically fill the entire new column with the last name before knowing it.

Let us have a look at the following steps:

Step 1

First go to Excel 2013.

Step 2

Then select the blank Excel workbook.

Step 3

Now Fill a column with the Few First Names like this:

Now take another column named Last Name like this:

Step 5

Now start entering the last name in this column and here we will see that the Last name is automatically flashing in the columns like this:

Now if we move to another cell while the last names are flashing in the Last Names column then we will see that they have been automatically filled in with these values.
