Overview of Tablet Pc Handwriting Recognition

Introduction

It is one of the most powerful function of the Tablet PC. You can write the text or document or notes using tablet's pen which comes with your tablet.

It's a very useful tool when you have to write long documents and you are fed up of pressing the keys. Tablet PCs perform handwriting recognition quite well. The tablet also gives you the option of inputting text using the PDA block letter recognition system.

Tablet PC uses a screen digitizer to turn your print or cursive handwriting into text that can be inserted into documents. The earlier versions of Tablet PC's are not much efficient in handwriting recognition. Like if you write 'I' then the most of the time output comes to be '1'. But with the time the system got more efficient and now its quite effective.

Handwriting options

Handwriting is automatically recognized and inserted into your file when you:

    1.  Write enough information that is accurately recognized.

    2.  Reach the end of the line and need space to continue writing.

    3.  Pause for a time after writing.

You can make changes to how quickly or slowly your handwriting is recognized or turn on or off the automatic recognition of your handwriting. You can also change the on-screen pen color and width and adjust the handwriting toolbar.

You can also change settings depending whether you are right handed or left handed.

Go to Tablet Pc Settings then under the General tab select between Right-handed or Left-handed then click OK.

You can also execute control /name Microsoft.TabletPCSettings from the command prompt to access Tablet PC Settings directly.

Auto Complete :  Auto Complete in Tablet PC works just like  Auto Complete in common programs, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and text prediction dictionary. Auto Complete lists possible matches in Input Panel, such as e-mail addresses, URLs, file names, and other items that you've entered before.
