Congratulations 2016 Microsoft MVP!
This was the email I received from Microsoft this morning. Thank you so much Microsoft, US MVP Lead, and the MVP Award team for working hard and continue to make a big impact on developer community via this award program.
A letter like this one is a big motivation to MVPs:
A new year can’t have a better start. This is my 11th consecutive Microsoft MVP Award. Not only this email put a smile on my face but also motivated me to do more for the community this coming year.
If you’re not familiar with Microsoft MVP Award, here are some FAQ from MVP Award program website:
Who are MVPs?
Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals, or MVPs, are community leaders who’ve demonstrated an exemplary commitment to helping others get the most out of their experience with Microsoft technologies. They share their exceptional passion, real-world knowledge, and technical expertise with the community and with Microsoft.
What is the MVP Award?
Technical communities play a vital role in the adoption and advancement of technology—and in helping our customers do great things with our products and services. For more than two decades, the Microsoft MVP Award has provided us an opportunity to say thank you to independent community leaders and to bring the voice of community into our technology roadmap through direct relationships with Microsoft product teams and events such as the MVP Global Summit.
How to become an MVP?
While there is no benchmark for becoming an MVP, in part because it varies by technology and its life-cycle, some of the criteria we evaluate include the impact of a nominee’s contributions to online forums such as Microsoft Answers, TechNet and MSDN; wikis and online content; conferences and user groups; podcasts, Web sites, blogs and social media; and articles and books. Each nominee's contributions are compared to those of other candidates, and active MVPs receive the same level of analysis as new candidates each year.
