This configuration will help you to manage the data connection files, which can be associated to the form templates to have data connection between the Services, which can also store the credentials to store the Services.
How to configure it?
Let’s open Central Admin of SharePoint on your machine. On your Windows desktop screen, click Start >> Administrative Tools >> SharePoint 2013 Central Administration.
- Run it as an administrator to have the elevated privileges.
- You will see the screenshot given below.
- Central Admin is configured under the categories given above.
- Click General Application Settings.
- Go to InfoPath Forms Services.
- Click Manage data connection files.
- You will see the screen given below.
Configure
Here, you can see all the data connection files, which are present on Central Admin of this Server.
- Click Upload.
- You will see the screen given below.
Let’s upload a file as our template.

Here, you can upload a data connection file.
- Overwrite
If you have a template, which is already present, you can overwrite the file here.
- Category
Here, you can provide a category to the connection file.
- Web Accessibility
Here, you can specify, if you want the data connection file to use HTTP access, while connecting the Services.
This configuration assists admin to have control on the data connection files distributed for different form templates at one location, which can be managed and used from one center.
