Future of IT Jobs
I was reading an article The
future of IT will be reduced to three kinds of jobs in which author talks
about the future of IT jobs and only three kinds of jobs – Consultants, Project
Manager, and Developers will survive and rest of the jobs will diminish slowly.
I have to disagree with it. I think there are many more
roles in IT will be available and Administrators, Network Engineers, Data and
Security Engineers as I wrote in my blog Top 6 Software Development Trends in 2011. Let's not
forget Tester Roles.
Now cloud computing seems to be the growing trend, this is
correct that need of a local Network Administrator or Engineer will diminish.
Now, we can host our emails on Office 365 online and data, applications and
tools can be on the cloud, all we need is, take care of the business.
But, somebody needs to manage the data. Somebody needs to
provide security around it. Let's not forget growing social media and other
integrations.
