To get you started with Mango, in conjunction with the release of the Beta Windows Phone Developer Tools 7.1, we have put together a comprehensive list of resources that will help you build your next-generation apps and games.

Updated documentation


We have updated the official documentation for developers, including over 160 new and updated conceptual topic pages, and 22 brand new code samples specific to the new developer functionalities available in the Mango release. We have also updated the Silverlight, XNA and Expression Blend documentation to reflect the new functionalities in Mango. You can have a glimpse on what is new to Mango here.

New Walkthroughs


We updated our Windows Phone how-to topics to include new Mango capabilities. How-to topics help you to complete a task by presenting a series of procedures, a code example, or both. How-to topics are a good place for you to start if you are trying to perform a specific task, and just want to get your work done.

New Mango Hands on Labs

This training kit will provide you with a hands-on deep-dive into all the new developer features in Mango. If you are new to Windows Phone, consider reviewing our Windows Phone 7 training kit to get a good understanding of the core fundamentals in Windows Phone.

XNA Platform Guidance

The new game developer guides include updates to existing code samples to take advantage of Mango functionalities and guidance on the new Visual Basic support for XNA.
