How To Create Custom View In Office 365 Project Online
In this blog, I will show you how to create custom view in Project Online. Once you read this blog, let me know your comments please.
First of all sign into this URL, as shown below.
Enter your credentials to login to the Office365 Project site. After successfully logging in, you will be able to see the screen given below as a landing page.
Now, click Menu, as shown below.
On clicking menu, a list of items will be displayed, as shown below.
Select Project.
When you click on Project, you can see Project online landing page, which is PWA (Project Web App) site, as shown below.
As we know that the left side menu list is a quick launch Webpart, we shall see each item in detail in my upcoming articles.
For now, just click on projects option.
When we click on Projects option, then the page redirects to Project center page, as shown above.
Now, click on the projects ribbon, as shown below.
New
We can create a new project in PWA
Open
You can open Projects in different methods, as shown below.
We shall discuss later on different methods to open the projects in the upcoming articles.
Add Sharepoint Sites
We can add a SharePoint site to each project, as shown below.
Build Team
You can add the resources to the project. You can then assign the task to those resources.
Project Permissions
Set permission to each project in terms of accessing, updating etc.
Check In/Check Out
The terms ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ apply to enterprise projects, enterprise resources and to the Enterprise Global Template. A user must check out any of these before editing, so that others have Read-Only access until the user checks them back in. Check out occurs on a first come first served basis, so the first person who opens the project for editing checks out the project.
Let's see how to create custom views.
We have different lists of views, as shown above. Now, if you want to add another view, let's say I want to create Projects KPI view.
Click on the settings.
Select PWA Settings option from the dropdown. Afterwards, you will see the screen, as shown below.
Look for Manage Views option under Look and feel settings and click on it.
From above, you can see Project View as default.
Now, we have to create new View, followed by clicking on new tab, as shown below.
On clicking New View, you can see a form type register, as shown below.
Select your required view type, give the name & description to this view.
From fields box, add in required fields to the displayed fields box, as shown below.
After finishing all the items shown above, click on save button to save the view.
The view is created in project center page and goes back to project center page.
Finally, the view looks, as shown below.
Sharing is caring.
