In this Blog series, I'm planning to write about Search Result Web Part Customization. You can set the following properties
in the Search Result Web part under result settings tab.
Number of results per page - By Default its 10
Show ranked results - It can be enabled or disabled through checkbox. It is enabled by default.
Show promoted results -It can be enabled or disabled through checkbox. It is enabled by default.
Show "Did you mean?" - You can let SharePoint to show "Did you mean" if search doesn't matches.
Show personal favorites - If the results are marked as favorites by user before ,they can be shown.
Show View Duplicates link - Shows the duplicate link if its configured. This is disabled by default.
Show Search Navigation menu -It helps the users to broaden or limit the scope of the search.
