Combo box value and text in vs 2008 for windows application

Question

hi developing a windows application using visual basic 2008. in a form i want to load customer ID and customer Name in a combo boX. customer ID will be invisible and customer name will be visible in column.user will select the name but customer id will be stored in the database. Thanx

Hello Yes we can have more than 2 columns/entity/column store in the ComboBox. The ComboBox has two properties DisplayMember and ValueMember which are used in data-binding. The first of these contains the property which is actually displayed and the second contains the property which represents the actual value of what's dispayed. So you might be able to set DisplayMember to customer name and ValueMember to customer ID. See the example on MSDN ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.listcontrol.valuemember.aspx ).
