How to determine if a bool variable has not been assigned a value?

How do I determine if a bool variable has not been assigned a value in C#? Before I set a bool variable already declared I assume it is a value of null. What is the syntax to determine if it is null? If I do the following I get an error that I can't use == on a bool: bool test; if ( test == null ) { // This bool var has not been assigned yet. } Sorry for such a noob question.

If you need bool with no-value you can create enum: public enum MyBool { NoValue True False } then: MyBool val; and to test: if (val == MyBool.NoValue) of course you can't do: MyBool val; if (val == MyBool.NoValue) because you need to initialize the value and the compiler will complain. If you have MyBool inside of class the compiler will initialize it to NoValue.

bool is a value type variable there for it cannot be null so its either true or false

Also remember that a bool var is assigned false by default during compilation. Thats if you didn't initialize it to anything.

First Initialized the value of test (test = true false not null) in your situation the value of test is consider as a False not null.
