internet explorer toolbar

Question

Hi all I want to create a toolbar for Internet explorer. I'm almost at the end of my 3 year computer programming course and I'm finding myself not having any idea on where to start on something like this.. I can't find any resources on the net except for 1 example in c++ that is much to complicated for me to start with  and i saw one here on c-sharp corner but it too seems to have some flaws. Can anyone give me any starting points to do this? I want to do it in c# or vb.net.

Nah that method has to be placed in the Main method just before executing Application.Run. Since this is a Control Library it has no Main() Method since it compiles into a .dll file.

Maybe Application.EnableVisualStyles? Definitely not sure of that though. In fact I highly doubt that will work.

Thanks that worked. Though I know how to add XP STYLE themes to applications with manifest files but how could I do that with that example because it creates a DLL file to be embedded with Explorer. I thought since IE and explorer use the themes that my toolbar would automatically as well but it did not.

well that would be a crude way of going about it. I thought there might be a good book to read or a refference on the web somewhere on how to actually do that.

I believe adding a toolbar to Internet Explorer involves writing to the registry which you should be able to do in most programming languages. What you could do is download an existing custom toolbar and see what it adds to the registry then see if you can do the same.
