Posting in the Forums

Question

I have had a search around but am unable to find the forum guide or FAQs. I've been posting some help to a few people in the forums but can't a way of posting code samples and having the syntax highlighted. Alothough I have seen that other people have done this so it must be do-able.

Sorry for asking something so basic.

I was going to make a similar suggestion; that there be some instructions for how to do things especially how to paste code. The following is an example of copying from Visual Studio and pasting directly here. As you can see the format is messed up. I don't understand why brackets appear before the rest of the code; they are not like that in the code I copied. Sure the color is preserved but the formatting is not correct. It would help to have instructions on what to do. Hopefully the most important thig to do is to put at the end of each line. I have a VS macro that can do that but it is a little cumbersome to use. It seems easy enough to write something such as that. If it is unlikely that the current situation will improve soon then perhaps someone else such as I can develop something. { } static void Main() Application .EnableVisualStyles(); Application .SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault( false ); Application .Run( new Form1 ());

Forums guidelines are on the home page by clicking Must Read This button. Now you brought a good point. May be we should put a link on the header called Forum Guidelines. Syntax highlight is not supported on the forums. But you can copy and paste your code from Visual Studio or Word Doc. That will keep the code format. Cheers!
