Shrink database file

Question

1.I have a large database file of LDF file of 433gb and MDF of 205 gb

2.I have hard drive of 500 gb and i am linking these LDF and MDF file in a folder in that drive

3.Every time i need to change the hard drive for filling up the data.

4.is there any alternative solution for shrinking?

5.what happens if i delete the LDF file?

Hi Better you can shrinking the LDF file.It will make your drive free.use the following sql script to shrink the LDF file USE [your database name] ALTER DATABASE [your database name] SET RECOVERY SIMPLE use [your database name] declare @log_File_Name varchar(200) select @log_File_Name = name from sysfiles where filename like '%LDF' declare @i int = FILE_IDEX ( @log_File_Name) dbcc shrinkfile ( @i  50) ALTER DATABASE [your database name] SET RECOVERY FULL Thanks
