In this article, I will discuss how to change the language settings for a particular user. There are two ways. When you create a site, you also specify the user language setting such as Time Zone, local display for numbers, dates, and time, sort order, calendar type, work week, and time format (12 or 24 hours) settings in both SharePoint On-premise and Online.
So, let’s get started. Follow the below steps -
Step 1
Open your SharePoint Site.
Step 2
Click on your profile icon present at the top right corner of the page.
Step 3
Click on “My account” option. The below screen will appear.
Step 4
Click on "Settings" option.
Step 5
Choose "Language and time zone" option.
Step 6
It shows English as the default language. You can change it to any language as per your requirement and click "Save".
Step 7
Once saved, the language will get changed.
So, the language can be changed in SharePoint per the required user.
OR
We can also change the language from Site Settings menu, as described in the below steps.
Step 1
Go to your specified site and click on the gear icon i.e. "Site settings".
Step 2
Click on "Language settings" under Site Administration menu.
Step 3
Once clicked, you will get a list of languages having checkboxes. Select the checkbox next to the alternate language you want to enable.
Step 4
Click the "Yes" or "No" options to enable the changes made to the user-specified text in the default language so as to automatically overwrite the existing translations in all alternate languages and then click "OK". This will change the respective language.
So, these were the two ways to change the site language for a particular user.
