Question

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

please help ,Local and remote conenction both r able in congiguration manager

Check the SQL Server event logs. That is where I would look when this happens. The server might have restarted due to updates but the SQL Server services might not have restarted. Or the space allocated for the database might be full. But you would not know this until you check out the event logs. HTH Happy Programming!!! Regards Raja

I was trouble into same problem. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server .... it was success that I did WCF service on My computer. I use this (Data Source=192.xxx.x.xx;Initial Catalog=Bxx;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=sa;Password=xxxxxx) but It dosen't work after released II7 what is problem?

actually it was working fine till yesterday with this add name =  reniConnectionString  connectionString =  Data Source=shmai.com\SQL2005;Database=reni;User ID=shmai;Password=*****;persist security info=False;Max Pool Size = 200  providerName =  System.Data.SqlClient  /> but not now . secondly why i m unable to connect with database via sql managemnet studio (sql server) with these credentials

Try datasource attribute with ip/name of the system.

Generally those kind of error occurs only when something is wrong in your connection string or your server is not respoding. Please check either conn or your server setting
