About tables

Question

I have create tables in my sql database.Now i want table names and columns in my tables display on a form(on grid view or any).But how i get table names or coloumn names in my grid view .

To get Table Names: Select Table_Name from Information_Schema.Tables; To get Column Names: Select Column_Name from Information_Schema.Columns Where Table_Name = 'TableName'; I tested in SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.

This depends on the version of Visual Studio that you are using and how you want to go about it. The simplest way in VS2005 is to drag a DataGridView on to your form and then on the DataGridView tasks dialog click the 'Choose Data source' drop down. You'll probably need to select 'Add Project Data Source' and select database at the type. You can then follow a wizard that will let you establish a connection with the database and select tables etc etc. I'm sure the process is similar in other version of VS. regards Ashley
