Hi.. What is the difference between abstraction and encapsulation with real life example ? Thanks..

Hi Encapsulation is hiding the implementation details which may or may not be for generic or specialized behavior. Encapsulation means hiding the internal details or mechanics of how an object does something. Abstraction is providing a generalization (over a set of behaviors). Abstraction lets you focus on what the object does instead of how it does it. Like when you drive a car you know what the gas pedal does but you may not know the process behind it because it is encapsulated. Suppose you have an integer int Number = 5; string aStrNumber = Number.ToString(); you can use a method like Number.ToString() which returns you characters representation of the number 5 and stores that in a string object. The method tells you what it does instead of how it does it.

Hi Vineet Normal 0 Abstraction Hiding the complexity. It is a process of defining communication interface for the functionality and hiding rest of the things. Encapsulation: Encapsulation is the ability to hide the internal workings of an object's behavior and its data. For instance let's say you have a object named Bike and this object has a method named start(). When you create an instance of a Bike object and call its start() method you are not worried about what happens to accomplish this you just want to make sure the state of the bike is changed to 'running' afterwards. This kind of behavior hiding is encapsulation and it makes programming much easier. It is the mechanism that binds together code and data in manipulates and keeps both safe from outside interference and misuse. In short it isolates a particular code and data from all other codes and data. A well-defined interface controls the access to that particular code and data. Thanks

Hi Abstraction is the ability to generalize an object as a data type that has a specific set of characteristics and is able to perform a set of actions. Object-oriented languages provide abstraction via classes. Classes define the properties and methods of an object type. We use an interface to get access to an object's data and behavior. The object's data and behaviors are contained within the object so a client application can treat the object like a black box accessible only through its interface. This is a key object-oriented concept called Encapsulation. Examples: You can create an abstraction of a dog with characteristics such as color height and weight and actions such as run and bite. The characteristics are called properties and the actions are called methods. A Recordset object is an abstract representation of a set of data.
