hi Data Access Layer is one of logical Layer of 3- tier architecture. we can access our data which is stored in physically on disk it might be database or file with the help of DAL. Generally DAL contains methods that helps business layer to connect the data and perform required action might be returning data or manipulating data (insert update delete etc). DAL may be third party. noramally DAL is class library. hope this will help you.
